“Many
of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman
who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” So when the Samaritans
came to Him, they asked Him to remain with them. And He stayed there two
days. And many more believed because of His word. They said to the
woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we have heard for
ourselves and know that this Man is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the
world.” John 4:39-42
After her encounter with
the Lord Jesus the life of the Samaritan woman changed completely. She was a
new person from which the past no longer mattered. After this revelation she
told everyone what had happened to her.
From the moment one has an
encounter with God, her greatest desire is to announce to others what she has
received. She does not want to keep such a gift for herself alone. This is the
first sign of the person who is baptized with the Holy Spirit: she wants to
save.
It is impossible to have
the Savior inside of us and not want to save.
