The character of woman of God Series #3

Human beings are used to making plans and establishing objectives, which is normal and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is when the person, many times, is not content with themselves or with what they have, and that's when they open the door to envy.

When we think of envy, we quickly think.... " that's such a terrible and worldly feeling.." but unfortunately it exists a lot inside of the churches and in the midst of those who call themselves Christians.

Contrary to what many believe, envy is not only related to material things, like being jealous of cars, houses, money, clothes, and other material possessions that a person may desire to have, and doesn't. This is how greed is formed to obtain other peoples things.

Envy can also be manifested in things that we cannot touch or feel, for example, there are many people who are envious of other in these situations:

- a position that she desires to have

- a happy marriage a friend has

- physically beauty that another woman may have

- her way of being, because she compares herself to others, and she sees in others what she would like to be, but isn't.

- the attention and care her friends receive, and she doesn't

- someone else's success.

The worst part of it all is that she doesn't even realize that she is being dominated by this bad feeling and she begins to take actions with the intention of hurting and/or taking the person out of her way. By saying bad things, giving a false testimony about her, and telling lies about her.

Friends, it isn't wrong to have things or to fight for them until we get them, but it's wrong to want what isn't yours to have, because this evolves into envy, and to want something someone else doesn't have and desire for them not to have it, is also envy. Be very careful, because maybe sometimes you don't even realize it, it something that runs inside of you and you must push it away.

You don't have to be envious of anyone, God loves you just the way you are and you can achieve what you want through faith, and you enjoy your blessing when others too are being blessed. This is the character of a woman of God, completely against envy and greed.

"... and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." -Galatians 5:21

"You decide"

" There is a girl who is my partner in the work of God, she is involved in everything that is being done in the church, whether it's that they invite her, she's responsible for something, or some thing new to be done, and they always ask her, it even seems as if there is no one else in the church there but her. People don't ever get tired of giving her compliments, I'm fed up of it, it bothers me a lot. Because I give it all I have and no one even notices, I don't want to feel this way, but it's inevitable. Please what should I do?"

What i have learn is that sometime God does not give us what we want because our attention is wrong. May be you are not strong inside of you, spiritual speak.

You should be happy for your friend, when your time come she will be happy for you. REMOVE THIS FEELING IS NOT FROM GOD.

You have to look at yourself first.
-it sounds as if you have green eyes towards your friend.
-your foundation in the work of GOD is for God.
-keep your eyes on God those feels you have are not fruits of the HOLY SPIRIT at all.
I think you are a sincere a person, and seek help.

Thank you so much for this message. I try to look at myself deep inside whenever this feeling tries to creep inside of me. It is so sneaky when that happens & if I catch on I rebuke it because I know it is not from God. Just another reminder of something else to keep watch for while seeking or guarding our salvation.

God bless you

I see envy as an insecurity the person has. Because whatever a person has, they could have also. Not for competition or any bad motive involve, but why envy. Or look at people with bad eyes. This post reminded me of this thought.
Thank you Xoxo ;)

Good day Mrs Tania

I love your blogs, they are very helpful and have blessed me since the day I started reading them (about a month ago; if I’m not mistake). May God continually bless you.

Responding to “you decide”: Do you give it “all you have” for people to compliment you or do you do it for the glory of God, because you love souls and you want to save them? If it’s for the compliments then I guess you have to put in more work because your all in not enough.

You’re feeling this way because you are focused on the wrong thing not on what your objective should be; saving souls.

God is pleased with the “little” that you do, if it’s done with in Him (Love).

Envy really is poisonous and will cause you to fall if you don't get rid of it. I use to be envious of a friend who was progressing faster than me. This really bothered me and lead me to have bad eyes towards her, judgemental thoughts and eventually towards others. I even started to have bad intentions when doing things just because of that little feeling I allowed to grow. Thank God I go rid of all of that, and I choose never to harbour that within me. God is love and wants the best for people, this how I should be.

Honestly through reading this blog I have seen there have been times when I have been jealous of my friend, but it is not a good thing and I don't want to be like that anymore. Also I can see that some times I will do things with bad intentions because of my jealousy, so reading this blog has really helped me in seeing this more clearly.
