It hurts, right?

Have you ever had to get rid of your favorite shoes? The one that you liked the most, but you can’t use because it makes your little toe hurt too much.
The shoe is beautiful, you wait sometime to give it away; you enjoy looking at it in your closet every time you open it. You can’t simply imagine it on anyone else’s feet but your own.
But in reality, the shoe is no good for you; it is only taking up space.
If you insist on using it, your foot will get worse and the wound too.
Many times we know we need to get rid of something, even though we resist we know we have to abandon that one thing.
Maybe you have to let go of a friendship that is taking you down the wrong path; maybe it’s changing something in your character that doesn’t please God. Maybe it is even leaving your boyfriend, whom you think is the love of your life, but the truth is he has only been a stumbling block in your faith.
Maybe you will need to completely change the direction your life is headed, so that you can please God.
It hurts, right? But it is the ONLY solution, to get rid of what does you no good, to get rid of what is consuming your faith and energy and makes wounds painful.
Don’t waste any more time, don’t continue to attach yourself to something that has no future; don’t be afraid to give.

Hi mrs tania, I read this post a couple of months ago and now i've plucked up the courage to comment on it, because it really helped me when i was facing a hard decision; a relationship with my boyfriend or moving forward with God. And its true i was afraid to give up the relationship because like you said about the shoes i didn't want anyone else to have him so i thought the best thing to do was to keep the relationship going, but i was wrong. Many people told me to give up this and I didn't want to listen because to me they didn't understand, I kept trying to find different people to speak to in hope of finding someone who would say what i wanted to hear, and then someone told me the exact same thing that's written in this post "the relationship is acting as a stumbling block in your faith it's making you do things you don't want to do" and then i think a day after i read this blog post and then i made my decision to end that relationship and i have no regrets things are constantly moving forward =)

This is so true because may times we keep things in our lives because we like it, we are comforted by it. Without knowing, it is slowly destroying us and before you know it, it has completely taken over and you fall in your faith. We need to cut everything that is taken too much space so God can work inside of us to make our inside portray our outside

Thanks a lot Mrs. Tania for sharing this blog. The same was happening to me. It was so hard to let go of those bad thoughts that were doing nothing but destroy my reationship with God. When I decided to let them go, though it hurt, I became a new person and I was closer to my Father.

To let go of anything you love or have had for a long time and got used to, hurts. But after the pain, there is healing; there is something new for you.

Thank you for sharing with us Mrs Tania. Great example. If we don't get rid of what is hurting us we don't make room for what is good for us.

This is a good comparison sometime is really hard for us to say good bye to stuff or people because it hurts, but anything to please God.
