We all like to live in a
clean house, wear clean clothes, have our bodies clean and even look at the
city and see that it’s clean. Trash and dirt bother too much; the environment
becomes ugly, undesirable, smelly and disgusting. To avoid this scenario we do
certain things every day, such as: we clean our house, wash our clothes, we
take showers, and we don’t throw trash on floor of the city. We do everything
we can to keep things clean and scented. To conclude, we do not allow anyone to
dirty what we with so much care and effort leave a gleam.
These are the basic rules
of hygiene. Everyone knows and everyone should do. When we see someone who does
not do it, we think that she’s dirty lol. But what to do when it comes to the
interior? How to keep the heart clean in the chaos we live in?
We see and experience so
many injustices. We live with false people, there is ruin everywhere. Lies and
deception take on frightening proportions, anyway, the world is immersed in
evil and nobody is immune. However God wants us to keep our hearts clean. The
evil is there but only enters into those who give him permission. He left a
wonderful promise to those who have a clean heart:
“Blessed
are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8
Have you ever imagined
seeing God? Oh what day!
What you need to know, my friend
is that to keep the heart clean is your responsibility! That's right, God will
not cleanse your heart; you'll have to do it. But how? Rejecting evil, refusing
to feed yourself of bad feelings, not allowing bitterness, hatred and revenge
to take over you; chasing away malice, evil eyes and anything that may
contaminate the purity of your heart, and consequently your faith.
Just like in your house,
you throw away the trash every day to avoid bad smell, unwanted little animals
and bacteria; you have to do the same with regards to your heart. It must be
clean at all times, otherwise the dirt will make it stink and repulsive before
God. How could He, a pure Being, dwell in the midst of filth? Impossible!
You cannot stop the evil
that is in the world, but you can prevent it from entering and dwelling within
you.
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for
out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4.23
