Break your jar

While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. Mark 14: 3

The pure nard was a very valuable perfume. At the time it was only used by people of high standards, or mortuary preparation of monarchs and wealthy people. And as we know the Lord Jesus was not seen that way by the people, on the other hand He was seen as a deceiver. Mary had the opportunity to manifest the sacrificial faith, the true faith before the Lord Jesus. The Savior was there and that perfume poured over Him represented the pouring of her life; showing by her attitude that there’s nothing more valuable than to have her life given to God. Mary broke the jar; our life represents this jar. If anyone wishes to be with Christ has to “break her life,” stop doing what’s wrong, pride, arrogance, malice, and everything that brings you away from God. Something interesting was happening, but the eyes of those who were there, were in how valuable the perfume was and not in Jesus.
“But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized her sharply.” Mark 14: 4, 5
However the eyes of Mary were on the Savior because her greatest treasure was not the perfume even though it was very expensive. For this reason many of those who claim to be Christian fail because their eyes are in the material things of this world. Many try to show off that they are of God, they talk beautiful but didn’t give their lives to God and for this reason their faith is not true. When any opportunity comes they choose to do what’s wrong. The only way to spread this perfume is to break the jar. There are many perfumes, some true and some false, but the real and good perfume is expensive; it’s the one that makes the difference. The perfume itself does not talk but its smell is pleasant. Mary didn’t speak but her attitude was pleasant before God.
“Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.” ” Mark 14: 9
Let us spread this good perfume, but don’t forget to first break your jar (your life). You can do it right now, give yourself completely, manifest your faith and Jesus will make the difference in your life; and all who surround you will see that your faith is genuine and true.
