Example a servant - No competitions

-->

“But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest.  And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” Mark 9:34, 35

Jesus being the Son of God, Lord and King never bragged about it, on the other hand, He often asked not to say His deeds; as many would not believe and it would disturb His mission. He lived in this world in a surprisingly way. Everyone expected a Messiah in robes of a king, a crown of diamond, and living in a palace with many servants. Unlike all this, He was simple, He walked among the disadvantaged, and was not concerned to receive glory or have position. He came to save, not to reign, although He reigns in the hearts of those who love Him.

Unfortunately in the work of God we have seen servants disoriented, unfocused, competing for a title, a position, a status. Completely diverted from the purpose for which they were called. They live frustrated waiting for an “opportunity”, recognition, and applause. They do the work of God sad, without motivation because their eyes are on earthly things and not the eternal, their eyes are on themselves and not the souls.

Disputes become the incentive day to day. The struggle to conquer higher position and greater responsibility begin to overshadow the vision of the servant of God and then begins her destruction. When she is put in a place she likes, a place that in her eyes is good and she deserves to be there, she gives her best. If she goes to a place that does not exceed her expectations, she works discouraged, doesn’t give her best, and “pushes with the belly” showing that she doesn’t serve God but herself.

Many think that their success depends on the friendship they have with people who can “favor them.” They take their faith in God to place in these people. So they do everything to please them, serve them, and not disappoint them, so they don’t lose the chance to receive some benefit. Our example of servant did not like competitions. When he was aware of this kind of attitude among the disciples, He’d say that whoever was worried about being the biggest or the first will be the servant of all.

Some have not yet achieved this spiritual level and therefore live outside of God's purposes. Instead of servants, they have been lords; their concern is not to serve but to show off. You will never get the Spiritual things through carnal means. And if you ever get something that way you know that it did not come from God and therefore you’ll lose it; simply because everyone knows her intentions and motivations.

"He came to save, not to reign..."

Thank you for your post Mrs Marcia, this is truly important because with time as a servant we cannot count the places that has been placed on us also, for whatever it may be it is to save souls, not to reign.

I remember also reading a blog where words "as servants you are to serve the people, simply, a servant serves, if you want to be served, you no longer a servant but making yourself a master" This is highlights that as a servant you do more for God and you do not expect anything, you just simply serve, you give, give without expecting anything, if there should be growth it is for the development of the work of God which is souls.

I would also like to add if I may, that sometimes one may not be looking to competition but maybe over time they get lost in the place given to serve and now suddenly that mentality of competition comes to birth and the person instead of rejecting it , they indulge or entertain it.

We should follow our Master Jesus, we do not need to show off, it was never of showing off but to do the work, we are all working for the Kingdom of God, there should not be any competition among us, rather I think it should be directed to the devil with the desire of taking more souls out of His Hands into the Hands of God, that is the competition, we should have in mind.

Thank you again.

Greetings. Mrs Tania this is very true. I always wanted to give the best to show people that God exists. I would see opportunities and jump for them to see the youth growing. I did it because of a vision to save souls till this day it is what i do but if i don't do everything out of love I'll lose what is precious and doing it to please will cause me and others to divert from God's plan. This message is very important.

Serving God without competition has a great reward of always being at peace and happiness.

One thing I have been seeing in the kingdom that it ends up being about characters and this name and so on. It's not about The Lord Jesus Christ but something else .
Thank you for a great reminder. Behind all this I need to remember that am nothing without Christ.

I had to read this and get it to dwell in my sub conscious because it is very important for me to be a productive servant and not just a mere servant. And by the way there was a time in my past where I realized that I needed to focus on myself and what God want from me not what people want else i could not be in faith now because i was worried about people.I am grateful for the message Mrs Tania

Hello.
Thank you very much for this teaching, as servants of God, we were not called to be seen nor to be recognized.
Only the face and glory of God must be recognized, we are just called to serve, that's it!
Thank you very much, and have learnt much.

We shouldn't exchange submission to God,with submission to the human beings.. He is the author of this work, and things (blessings), take place in His own Perfect timing.

Thank you again... Kisses
