Example of a servant - He was sensitive to the need of people

-->

So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him… Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent. And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other” Mark 3:2, 4- 5

In this passage we see that the religious always put the traditions above the people; so if anyone needed healing on the Sabbath day, considered the day of rest, they did not help, nor they did anything to save the person. Jesus, on the other hand, always put the people above traditions. By the way he was revolted to see the indifference of the Pharisees against the man with the withered hand. They simply didn’t care, and didn’t have compassion. Jesus would not pass up the opportunity to do good just because it was on a Saturday. His pleasure was to heal and bless people regardless of the day of the week or any restriction. After all, there should not be limitations to do good.

In God's work we have the opportunity to help and do good every day, but some use excuses to not meet the needs of those who need help. I refer not only to the people of the church, but all around you, such as family or work colleagues.

Maybe you think that you do not act like the Pharisees of Jesus' time, or your motives are different from them, but the action turns out to be the same. Before we think about it, I want to make clear that these points are related to people who serve God on the Altar because they gave their lives to serve full-time, or those who have the same desire:

- You decide to go for a walk with your friends, but that day the pastor ask you to make an urgent visit to a patient. Do you cancel the appointment, and help the needy, or say that you can’t because you have an appointment?

- Perhaps the pastor's wife who lives with you has any need or needs help, are you sensitive to it or you’ve bad eyes?

- Your husband needs your help or just wants your company in the church, however you want to stay home. What will prevail, your will or the desire to please your husband?

- Imagine it's your day off and there is a need to do something in the church, how do you react? Do you say that you cannot because it's your day off, or you meet the need of the Work God?

- Let’s say that you to do all of the above, you deny your will, and leave your plans behind to meet the needs of the work. But how do you do it? Willingly or complaining and muttering the rest of the day?

These are our daily examples, but maybe you have not been paying attention to these details and have placed your pleasures or your routine over the work of God. That's what the religious did, they put the tradition above the man who needed help.

Let's see how our behavior has been and if we have been sensitive to see the needs of the Work of God. Leave your comment. I'm reading all the comment of this series, if you have an experience to tell, may serve to help other people. And who knows it may become a post?

Kisses!

Hello! Mrs Tania

I have been reading this article and meditated upon it. The only thing I realised in me as a servant is that sometimes I get too busy with things in church that I dont even have time to councel or to attend the people.Looking at our example of a servant The Lord Jesus I realised that I was wrong all this time, He always had time for the people He was not too busy for anyone. From now I will change and do things differently I will make time for the people the same way someone had time for me when I entered the doors of the church.

Thank you very much for this message.

Kisses and hugs
