Good pieces of advice, who wants them?

“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.” 1 Chronicles 28.9

How wonderful such teaching and wonderful pieces of advice from a father to his son, the successor to the throne. Let us analyse each detail, so here are the secrets of our life with God.

Know the God of your father – David was aware that his son Solomon would only succeed if he was with the God of Israel. Without God his throne would be destined to fail, he would be a weak king and with no direction. Solomon needed to recognise like we do. Recognise means to admit, accept and confess the God of David as his only God.

Serve Him with a loyal heart – now David was teaching Solomon how to serve God, it was essential that he had a righteous heart. Serving God with a righteous heart means pure, flawless, righteous and incorruptible. A heart without these requirements cannot please or serve God.

With a willing mind – notice that he emphasizes the willingness, that is, full disposition, willingness, ready to help, full of energy and with happiness. It would be lthe same as saying, serve with excellence, fulfilling the will of God and not his own, not doing things anyhow or moaning, but giving his best, putting all our strengths.

For the Lord searches all hearts – Son, don’t think God can be deceived, or that He judges by appearances. God sees closely what is deep inside, where nobody sees, to see your real status. It is a warning for anybody not to deceived themselves, thinking that can cheat God.

Understand all the intents of the thoughts – analyse well your intentions and everything you do, if you do something with wrong motivation, God will know and He will not honour you. God is the only One able to know our real intentions behind each action.

If you seek Him, He will be found by you – God is so merciful and good that He will never reject those who seek Him with a sincere heart. Many have a disguised life, they pretend to surrender themselves, but out there they keep on dishonouring God with their attitudes, but those who truly seek Him, He will be found by all of them.

If you forsake Him, He will cast you off for ever – oh my son, if you reject God, you shall reap the fruits of that bad decision. You cannot play with God, if you disobey, reject, ignore the Almighty, you shall be alone.
God is never going to force anybody to follow Him, He respects our decisions, if we seek Him He accepts us, if we reject Him, He keeps away.

The advice was given, so each one makes his own decision.

Grab hold of these advices and put them to practice.

May God bless you all!
