Recipe-Cake

This is Fatima, she has a great talent for making cakes, when we had our V-Women and Pre-Sisterhood Ceremonies , she was the one who made our cakes. I just want to say a special thank you to her, they were not only beautiful but delicious."

Ingredients:

10 eggs

10 tablespoons sugar

10 tablespoons flour

1 tablespoon baking powder (yeast)

Zest of 1 orange

Preparation:

Beat the egg yolks with sugar and the scrapes of the orange for 10 minutes, then whisk the egg whites, mix the egg whites and flour to the mixture, alternating the flour and the egg whites (gently with a wooden spoon). Lastly, add the baking powder. TIP: For a smooth dough, sift the flour before joining.
Place the preparation for 30 minutes in a moderate oven previously buttered and dusted with flour. You can make the cake you want depending on the amount of eggs you want to use, knowing that each egg is a spoonful of sugar and flour.

Filling:

Strawberries

Pineapple broth

Peach broth

Save the pineapple and peach broth and add the juice of 3 oranges, to soak the cake later.

Cream filling:

1 can of condensed milk

2 cans of the same measure of milk

6 egg yolks gone through a sieve

scraped orange peel

2 tablespoons cornstarch

In a saucepan combine milk, condensed milk, egg yolks, orange zest and cornstarch and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until thickened. Allow to cool.

Cream Coverage:

2 packages of cream

1 can condensed milk

rum extract

(If you can’t find cream, you can buy soft peaks already made to cover the cake)

Beat the cream and rum extract with the electric mixer until it begins to gain consistency, this time add the condensed milk and continue beating until soft peaks point.

Finish:

After these procedures are completed, begin to assemble the cake. Cut the cake in half, sprinkle the bottom of the cake with fruit juice. Fill with fruit and cream. Cover with whipped topping. Garnish with fruit or to your liking.
