What is it to have fellowship with God?

When you want to conserve a good relationship with someone else, be it a spouse, a friend, a family member, etc., you seek to know what they like, to be present in their life, to keep frequently communication; you look forward to please them, many times you renounce your will to be okay with them, you sacrifice your own desires doing everything to avoid problems and thus enjoy a happy and peaceful life. But many people think that to have a communion with God is to simply say your daily prayers and read the Bible regularly. I'm sorry to tell you that although this is part of the task, it is not everything. How many practice it and actually they do not have true communion with God? Not in their attitudes or their way of living. It is easy to pray and read the Bible as a habit, for doing a “Christian obligation” or simply to relieve their conscience. However to keep a communion with God goes far beyond, it is much deeper. Let’s look at all that includes this union:
• More than reading the Bible is you seeking to understand it and bring it to your life
• When you talk to God, it cannot be in anyway, in a hurry, distracted; after all we are in God's presence
• Escape from sin and evil; it separates you from God and does not bring you closer to Him
• Deny your flesh every day
• Do not go by feelings or emotions that often make you take action or say things that you later regret
• Take care of your mouth: get away from gossip and useless talks
• Trust God even when everything is not as you like; do not whisper and complain
• Be submissive and obedient
• Take care so that you do not feed bad and negative feelings

Dear friends do not get confused about communion with religion!
“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 1 John 1: 6
I think that now you can answer whether you have communion with God or not. Leave your comment bellow.
God bless

What caught my attention is that communion with God is not to simply say daily prayers and read the Bible regularly-which by the way brings no results.

Communion with God is much deeper. It includes not paying attention to feelings and emotions.I should also take care that I do not feed negative thoughts.

Thank you very much Mrs Tania for this message.
When we about to do something or respond towards something, our communion with God is revealed when whether we listen to God's voice or not.
When we listen to God's voice and act exactly as He tells us,this shows that we have fellowship with God.
Thanks again, I learnt much, may God bless you...... Kisses
