Chosen for the Altar Series- 7

Authority

Many girls think, "oh if I am a pastors wife I will have authority in the church! I will be able to give orders, tell the assistants what to do and run the Kids Zone, people will respect me more and I will be more important in the church!"

This is a thought that is completely wrong and not the will of God at all.

The Spiritual authority that God gives us, is to help, teach and pass on to other people with the objective to help them become closer to God and grow spiritually, on top of receiving their salvation.

Those who use their authority to humiliate, put down others, give orders, aren't using what God gave them appropriately. The obedience and respect that people show to women and men of God, is due the fact that they recognize a spiritual authority that was given to them by God himself and not an imposed authority.

The person who does the work of God with the purpose to misuse their authority, will not be successful and certainly will not be approved by the Holy Spirit.

"Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock."

1 Peter 5:3

I completely love and agree with this blogpost. It is very true that many young girls think like this but one thing you mentioned which was very important and very true and more valuable
''The obedience and respect that people show to women and men of God, is due the fact that they recognize a spiritual authority that was given to them by God himself and not an imposed authority.''

I believe that those in authority gain the respect from people because their main concern is being an example and not giving orders. it's said that if you want to know someone you should give them authority and see how they behave.

I agree with you,Mrs Tania. Many people want to serve God just to attain authority over others. Authority comes after obedience and not the way around, but most of us want to be in authority first and obey later.

I completely agree, I don’t think the authority should be use to order people around, but to help others and guide them.

Dear Mrs Tania
I agree with you 100%, because authority must never be imposed.
A woman or man of God, can never misuse his authority because the authority God gave us is not for that but to lead people to the promised land (salvation).

Dear Mrs Tania
Definitely true, the authority that God has given us is to help His people. He entrusted us with it so that we may lead His people to Salvation. And we cannot abuse what God gave us in order to please ourselves nor to retain status. A true servant uses her authority wisely with the guidance of the Holy Spirit
Thank you
God bless

God looks at the intentions of our hearts, indeed He will never use a person who wants to misuse the Authority for her personal gain and selfishness

We cannot think that marrying the pastor we will have the authority to mistreat the people of God because our work as pastors wife will be unsuccessful,we must use the authority to bless the people and lead them to God
