Converted vs. Lost

When someone comes to the church they go through the conversion process, so they take several steps that lead them to a turnaround in their lives and go closer to God, such as:
- They listen and learn the word of God and begin to put it into practice
- They pray and fast
- Start reading the Bible and invest in their spiritual life
- Participate in the meetings in the church, not only on Sundays, but some days a week also
- Get away from bad company
- Start denying their own will and desires to please God
- Abandon sin and wrong attitudes.

Now let's see what drives a person to exit the converted state, cool in faith and become worse than before.
Unfortunately, we have seen it many times, how someone loses all they conquered with God and forget everything they have willingly learned and practiced?
Observe the list above and consider just the opposite:
- They hear the word of God but do not pay attention, they do not practice it and are indifferent to the word of God.
- They do not pray or fast anymore
- They do not read the Bible anymore
- Don’t go to Church as much, sometimes only goes on Sundays
- Begins to join with people who are not a good influence for their faith
- Begins to follow their own will and fulfill their desires
- Go back to sins and wrong attitudes that they had previously abandoned.

Just as conversion does not happen overnight, falling back doesn’t either. Little by little the person stops practicing all that keeps their faith alive and over time it goes out, when they come to realize it, they no longer have strength or courage to do anything about it.
So be careful, if you see you are having these symptoms, getting cold in faith and turning away from God, take action now and revert this situation.
Start again, even stronger than before, don’t be swept away or be distracted by anything because the devil takes every opportunity to attack you and divert your attention from God and especially to steal your salvation.

“Now, therefore,” says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all your heart,With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”  Joel 2:12
