Assistants in Focus Series 24 - Be Alert, story of an assistant

"Hello Mrs. Tania, I accompany every week the assistants in focus series, and it has truly added to my life.
I want to tell you a bit of my story, and who knows it may help other assistants that like I have a sentimental dream.
I was born and grew up in the church, I was lifted as an assistant and of course I always loved serving God, but I met an evangelist whom I started having feelings for, I approached him, we started talking and after some time to date, he was my first boyfriend, my first kiss, I thought that my dream was becoming a reality, getting married to my first boyfriend.
But it wasn’t like that, I ignored all the signs that he would give me, because he would tell me that the fact I was a virgin and having been my first boyfriend would call his attention, although not liking me and not wanting a commitment he wanted to be intimate with me and would affirm me that he would not leave me, in the event I would surrender myself to him.

While dating things started to advance, but I never gave in to him, because I was afraid and it wasn’t what I wanted for myself, that’s when he finished with me, I was sad and suffered a lot, but it took me a long time to come to the pastor and confess how it had been while dating, I only had courage when I spoke to him again and he made even worst proposals that I never thought I’d hear from him, a person that I always admired and liked a lot, and I was always honest with him about myself and my feelings, but today I know that God kept and took care of me.
Today I see Mrs. Tania how important it is to be vigilant, because our salvation is more important and because of feelings I almost lost it. I stand firm, and at the moment I am on the bench, but I know God is with me."

The devil is like a roaring lion preying on the people of God, I too was nearly taken for a ride.

The devil always tries to find away to take us out from Gods presence, but like you said we need to be vigilant.

Dear mrs Tania
The fact that we are on the altar serving God it doesn't mean that the devil is hands off, he will always try to tempt us. Remember he tried to tempt Jesus, and he knows our weakness so he will not give up on us. He will always try to make us fall using things or people around us. The Bible says in the book of 1John 4:1 " Dear friends do not believe every spirit, but test the Spirit to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." Before we can take any step we should ask God direction. Thank you.
