How to guard your heart?

Our eyes see many things, and then hear so many other things too; after all we don’t live in a bubble.
Thoughts bombard us all the time, misunderstandings occur, injustices, accusations, people mistreat us.
How to deal with so many feelings, without contaminating the heart?
Guarding your heart means; your mind, your will, your emotions. It’s something from inside that shows through your attitudes and actions, including what is said, seen and done.
But then, how to guard it? Let's see what the word of God says.
"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." Proverbs 4:23
First, this makes us think abut our conscience, we cannot allow bad feelings to exist inside of our hearts, after all where there is darkness, the light cannot shine. Your salvation is a stake here.
"Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech.” Verse 24
To guard your heart is also to watch what you say, don’t speak perverse things, false things, that pollute the interior, as Jesus said, "It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; your are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth." Matthew 15:11
Words show what’s inside a person.
"Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.” Verse 25
What we see can also contaminate our hearts. Not having bad eyes is key. The person who sees everything with malice has a tendency to judge and want to take justice into their own hands.
It isn’t easy to see wrongful actions and to hear absurd things without reacting, the best thing to do is to keep to oneself and not take the risk of holding grudges.
"Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil." Verses 26-27
Live far away from evil without getting sidetracked from the Word of God. Examine what path you have followed, the good? Or the evil? Don’t worry about what other might think of you, but do worry about what God thinks of you.

We have to choose the things we listen to, if people are saying think we don’t know, is better we walk away than listening to them. That what I have be doing and ever since I made that choice my heart have be free from grudges and bad thought.

I have seen people doing what they see from others which has contaminated thier Faith. And Its true we care more about what people think about us rather than what God think of us.

Its so important that we guard our hearts from all bad things. Our hearts must be dwelling places of the Spirit of God.

hello

the easiest way that the devil an reach to us is by taking over our hearts. How? mainly by making us think with our emotions. If we dont remain strong and avoid wrong feelings then we tend to make us take the wrong decisions. To avoid these emotions we have to have our faith and our spirit strong. Feeding it everyday with gods word and prayer.
