The request

“A woman of Samaria came there to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”  For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:7-10
The Lord Jesus asked the Samaritan woman for some water, but He was willing to give her something immensely greater, which is eternal life. He always wants to give us the best, but not everyone is willing to give himself/herself to Him completely.
Jesus showed this woman that she urgently needed this Water because she was unhappy. Truly no one can be happy without the Holy Spirit.
How many are those who have possessions, family, many friends, but their soul remains empty and unsatisfied? They lack the living Water, the Salvation.
Know that all the sacrifices you may make and all that you have to renounce are nothing before what you will receive: the Holy Spirit. So do not think that you are doing much to give your whole life because what you will receive is certainly much greater.
Is your life formless and empty? Ask the Holy Spirit and God is going to give you. Wasn’t it what Jesus said to the Samaritan woman? “You would have asked Him, and He would have given you.” Make the request and He will give you. Do you believe?
Read the previous article, of the study of this chapter, of the Samaritan Woman: The encounter.
We will continue with this study!
