Are you drinking enough water? Thirst is a worst indicator for
hydration; we may have already lost 1%-2% of body water by the time we feel
thirsty. If we are exercising and are dehydrated our performance will decrease.
We can also lose our mental focus and clarity. Under normal, non-exercise
conditions we can dehydrate by drinking to little water. Depending how
dehydrated a person is she can feel several symptoms like headaches, fatigue,
low blood pressure, dizziness, and flushing are just a few a person can
encounter. Remember soda, juices, coffee, teas or any other beverage will never
substitute water.
Make sure you keep yourself well hydrated, especially before
working out. Try to get a head start by drinking at least 2 cups (500mL. water
bottle) before you begin. Hydration before and after exercising is very
important to get the most out of your workout. Water balance is a must in order
to maintain a healthy body and mind.
