Happily ever after, that phrase marks the end
of the fairy tales we read as children.
Many have the idea that Christian life or the
work of God is a fantasy land, a pink world or colored glass.
How many young people think about serving God
in Altar under the assumption that by being part of God's work they will no
longer have struggles, they will be exempt of any kind of problem and will have
perfect lives. That is totally away from reality, so after they are faced with
the reality of God's work, they quickly want to give up.
My dear, have you ever seen or ever read in the
Bible a man of God whose life was free from any kind of trouble? I never saw it!
Perhaps you look at the pastor's wives, always
with a beautiful smile, and you think she has the perfect life and is immune to
problems. I need not go back very far in my diary to tell you the week I had a
hard time or received bad news.
Do you think a woman of God is formed in
bonanza?
We all experience problems, go through difficult
situations, with some losses or distress during our journey of faith. So do not
be fooled into thinking that the work of God will be your enchanted world, your
escape route and protective refuge, where you will never have any problem,
where everyone and everything will be perfect and you will live happily ever
after, life with God it's not like that.
When everything is marvelously well the human
tendency is to settle in their faith, and as a consequence, they end up walking
away from God and living a life with no light. They also fail to grow
spiritually, without experiences there is no development.
So we know that our peace should be within us, but
on the outside it is war. And those who do not want to go to war will have a
dead faith and eventually will become preys of the devil.
The Lord Jesus gave us the warning:
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have
peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the
world" John 16:33
