Still meditating in the book of Daniel, I came
across the second dream of Nebuchadnezzar.
"A tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great.
The tree grew and became strong; Its height reached to
the heavens, and it could be seen to the ends of all the earth. Its leaves were lovely, its fruit abundant, and
in it was food for all.
The beasts of the field found shade under it, the birds of the heavens dwelt in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it. “I saw in the visions of my head while on my bed, and there was a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven. He cried aloud and said thus: ‘Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts get out from under it, and the birds from its branches.” Daniel 4

He had good appearance, was strong and
beautiful, everyone knew of his power and majesty, he lived in abundance and
others enjoyed it too.
But there was a problem in his inner self. What
appeared on the outside did not match what was on the inside, the interior was
proud and corrupt.
What good is it if we have the appearance of
servants, many good works, if the inner self is corrupt, proud, not recognizing
God as Lord of our life?
The many leaves, many fruits, recognition,
pride became nothing before the Almighty.
The many blessings, miracles, responsibilities,
authority, for those who do not recognize them coming from the hands of God and
to glorify God, will become stumbling blocks in their lives, as it happened to
Nebuchadnezzar, who declined to acknowledge God as Lord, because he thought he
was the author of his own success and did not credit it to God.
God not only sees our works, what appears,
which is visible to the eye, but mostly what happens within.
Perhaps many have been willing to show good works,
do much, and are seen as this tree full of leaves and beautiful appearance,
while the interior is dry and fruitless.
Let's meditate on this, always looking within.
