“If the person sinned? What are the steps to
her redemption? I see that when we make a mistake, when we sin the devil
quickly works in our conscious. How can we overcome all of that? No matter what
kind of sin it may have been. What are the correct steps to take so that we don’t
fool ourselves and live in a “fake forgiveness” if such thing exists jeje.”
Friend
After the person has sinned and realizes the
mistake she’s made, guilt will follow and of course the consequences of her
sin.
The steps to follow are: first recognize your
sin and then true repentance. Notice that I wrote true, because it is not simply
the feeling of guilt or remorse, its regret, having disgust for what you did,
hating sin and never again committing that mistake.
Many people feel remorse and because of that
some time goes by and they are committing the same sin, which means there was no
repentance.
When there is repentance and humiliation before
God, Gods forgiveness will come, however; the person will still suffer the
consequences of her act, even after receiving Gods forgiveness.
Do you remember David? He sinned, he repented
and humbled himself before God and was forgiven, but the consequences came, the
baby that was fruit of the sin of adultery died and the sword never departed
from his family.
Moreover if there was sincere repentance, and God
forgave you, you have to forgive yourself as well and carry on. Not torturing
yourself as punishment for what you did.
Now you need to face the consequences and carry on, strengthening
yourself in God.
That is why you must think very carefully
before allowing yourself to be lead by the temptations that will appear along
the way, because even though there has been repentance and the forgiveness from
God, the consequences will come.
“Do not
be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also
reap.” (Galatians 6:7)
