Going Up The Podium

Perhaps you have been careful in the work of God and has fought for recognition from others, and not having occurred, have felt sad, disappointed, and in short, have no desire to do anything else, your desire to serve God has vanished, because nobody noticed it, praised it, recognized your efforts and commitment.
Humans feel the need to be recognized, it is something of our flesh, but we cannot forget that we serve God and our reward comes from God.
If we live in this constant struggle to impress people, to show them our value, that we love the work of God and give everything for it, we are not really doing it for God, but to satisfy some personal need.
Throughout your life as a servant of God, you can never be called to a podium to receive recognition or be praised by your leader, or receive a reward for your work, all this is not important, you know who you are serving right? At the end, who is your Lord?
Your prize will come from God, his great reward will exceed greatness, so do not worry about anything, because that need that you have can cause your downfall, and even a will to desist.
You may be thinking, ah, but I already know! Yes, but many also knew, and today they have abandoned the work of God because of that, when somehow they felt that they were not recognized, exalted.
If in the beginning we were not looking for that, why be concerned about that now?
You may not be known, you may be in a place far away and alone, but know one thing, God’s eyes are there, accompanying your every move, you are a key part of the God’s plan, no one needs to tell you this, you were chosen.
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:14

Thank you so much Mrs Tania. When we forget the whole purpose of being a servant,we start to entertain the voice of our flesh which then takes us far away from our spiritual connection with God.We should act only to please God as He is the One who will reward us genuinely.

We were born to serve. As a quote that I read once said, "work hard for a cause, not for applause, live life to express not impress, don't strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt." Let's all work to excel in the cause that was entrusted to us. Lets express his love and justice, let's do it for HIM.

This is exactly what I was talking with some of my friends lately. If we know who we serve, we don't need anyone to recognize our work.
We give our best to God, and He will use us. For me, this the the best of the reward : being used by God !

Gracias Sra.

Very true words. I've seen it happen so much in my 8 years serving that it still hurts to see. God deserves all and any recognition. Besides, even when others don't recognize us for our efforts, God will and greatly! I've seen it in my own life!

Yes, it is a fact that humans like to be recognised, I do appreciate recognition to be honest. But in all things that I do, I always make efforts to remember and focus on what and who I am ultimately serving. This is what allows me to build and maintain my relationship with God. I love the verse below! God has chosen me to serve Him-this is all that matters. I am definitely going to evaluate myself more, ensuring that my eye are always fixed on God.
Very helpful post:).xx

Its true many times we want to be recognised by man but the truth of the matter is that we only need God's approval because we were called by Him to serve Him. If we allow our feeling of being recognised by man we will develop pride.

This morning I was meditating in Ephesians and it also talked about serving others (parents. ..) as if the Lord Jesus was served. Want to be recognized when you do something is left of human nature. Christian or not we have these thoughts, and it is up to us to stop them from taking up too much space in our lives.

We should always keep in mind that God rewards us when we serve him with love not by serving men.
