Many
assistants feel useless in God's work, for not being responsible for anything
in the church or simply because the pastor never asks them to do anything.
This
feeling has saddened you and brought about other harm to your faith, such as
sadness, inferiority and even discouragement in serving for thinking that you
are not qualified as the others.
God
chose you to win souls, to take care of the people, that no one will prevent
you from doing, there's no way someone can feel worthless in God's work,
because what’s not lacking is work.
Even
if the pastor never gives you a responsibility, or asks you to do something,
you are responsible for the souls, you can evangelize, clean the church,
counsel the people, God has entrusted this in your hands.
So
why would you feel as if you weren’t chosen, as if you were one more in the
body of assistants, why would you feel useless if you are a servant of God?
I
believe that an assistant can only feel useless if she really does not dedicate
herself or does the work of God in a relaxed way, and that's a choice of each
one, because no one encourages you to act this way.
So
friends, do not think this way, all of you are useful to God, even though He
uses each one a certain way, all of you are important and a key part of God's
plan.
Task:
If you have been feeling useless, first you will stop thinking this way because
it does not please God, after you are going to counsel a person every day you
go to church and pray for these people. Result: You will see that you aren’t
useless in God's work and you are doing that for which you were called for.

thank you for the post i feel like i have missed out alot on this blog i did not know that the was a blog that helpes us as assistance and i am so happy that i took time to do reaseach and click on the post that one of my friends shared and thats how i got you .i am very happy because i can now say that feeling useless in the work of God is all gone because i now know that the work of God needs works and that God expect me to be one .thank you

As one Bishop said, "We will find something for you to do". In other words, there is always something to do in the work of God. It may not necessarily be inside the church where everyone sees you, but it can be outside; on the Helpline, visiting someone, cleaning the cupboards behind the church, etc.
We are as uselful as we want to be. Remember, this is God's work. We can find something to do that will indeed please him.

Hello Mrs.Tania! I'm also Assistant in our church, and I learned that even if the Pastor didn't give us a responsibility we must be the one who will take initiative to do the work of God so that we will not feel that we are useless.

I am really learning a lot from this series. With regard to this topic, one pastor once said that if we (assistants) took the time to take care of the church and people in the church, we will never lack something to do. As you mentioned, Mrs. Tania, responsibilities are not limited to those assigned to us by the pastors because there is a never ending need for servants in the work. The pr. said that if we read the prayer requests of the people for example, we would always have something to pray about. Let's not allow the enemy to make us feel useless, because the One who chose us never makes mistakes.

we should know that a true and profitable servant does not choose where to serve nor does he worry about the position.he serves God any where in the body of Christ,as our body parts are working together in harmony even us as assistant we should work to gether. If you feel useless why don't you help the one who has responsibility?? There is plenty of job to be done in the house of God.people are lost even those who are in the church so they need our councelling.so that they can know Jesus.Lets save souls and not waste time worrying about *responsibilities**

I'm not an Assistant, but this is true, there is always a way of doing God's Work!! Have to go to your church and ask if they're needing something!! There is always something to do in church or be used in order to do God's work, because we are here to serve!!

Thank you Mrs Tania, I am not an Assistant but what you said is very true! There is no such thing as 'there is nothing 'for me to do' in the work of God, because the work of God has no limits, we can always keep ourselves busy serving God, e.g, evangalising, praying for people, cleaning the church, being a good testimony at home, posting things from the church on social networking sites, etc!our occupation here on God isnt to have a position or a role, or to feel important, but to serve God! What a pleasure this is! :-)
These is very helpful truly if you are servant of God you dont have to worry about many things that are happening in the church u have resposbility you dont have is the same you only serve God cause you were called to save souls.

Thank you for sharing this post, indeed God called us to with souls for his Kingdom, that is what we should put our focurs on.
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Mat 9:37. We should not accept that we are useless in the work of GOD. lets make ourselves available for Him, HE will use us. Sometimes an assistant can just be lazy at the end of day they feel useless. So lets removes spiritual laziness in us and starting working. Even when the pastor didn't give us a responsibility, we can give ourselves one. Like making sure that each tym we come to church, the toilets are clean. When God sees our willingness, He gives us more responsiblities.
