Who has never spoken something they shouldn’t have or out of place? All of us have done this once in our lives.
Now we cannot forget that from our mouth can come out words that will either edify or words that will bring destruction.
We are going to talk about “tongue” in our next articles.
The lying tongue :
There are several ways to lie, let’s see :
Trickery- Many people trick third parties for various reasons, whether it be for profit, convenience, to hide something thats wrong or to obtain benefits. This brings terrible consequences and it shows that we do not trust God to handle the situation.
Half truths- It’s not telling the truth completely, it’s hiding a part of it. So you are not telling things how they are in reality. This happens a lot when the person wants to apologize for something and it gives the impression of things that didn’t exactly happen that way.
Exaggerative- many times you embellish the story to obtain more attention of your listeners. Exaggerating seems harmless but it’s a form of lying. The person adorns the truth so that it may seem more truthful but this does the opposite and makes the so story loose its credibility because its exaggerative, augmented, and the facts are changed.
“ The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth .” Proverbs 12:22
The flattering tongue - Most people do this to gain favor, I’m not referring myself to only material things but it can be to gain acceptance.
Because the person desires to be approved by others then they turn to flattering, to praise, to be accepted and loved but the person is not sincere.
“These people... flatter others to get what they want” Jude 16
