She didn’t say a word

Hi friends, it is said that women talk too much; we’re known as babblers, isn’t it? Doing some research I was frightened by the number of words we normally speak. It is not weekly, but daily; believe it or not we speak at least 20,000 words daily. And I didn’t make a mistake in the zeros! I think I have some to spare. Just out of curiosity, men only speak 7,000 words daily; I say only comparing to the number women speak. But the woman that I want to speak about today, was with the Lord Jesus and didn’t open her mouth. As people say: she came silent and left mute but very blessed.
Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.” Luke 7:36-38
She didn’t say anything to Jesus, but her attitudes did it for her.
·      Being a woman of the worst reputation possible, a prostitute, and not being invited to the house already proved that she acknowledged the power of Jesus and wanted to change. It is as if saying: I’m here, putting everything at risk for a new life that I know you can give me.
·      Staying at Jesus’s feet was as if saying: I don’t deserve to be here, but I came searching a help for my suffering soul.
·      Her cry was her words of repentance: please forgive me Jesus, I am very sorry for the life I’m living; but I’m ready to start a new life if you forgive me.
·      Her kisses were like recognizing and demonstrating the humbleness and love for the Lord Jesus.
·      Pouring the fragrant oil that she earned in her sinful life was as if saying: here I give to you my past, my old life, I let go of everything that I don’t want anymore. I give it all to you Lord.
Each attitude of that sinner spoke for her. Jesus understood each detail that she had to Him; she without saying a word, showed her faith and left that place transformed, a new woman. Look at the verse bellow: “Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”” Luke 7:50

So let’s talk less and act more! Many people don’t get benefits from their faith because they do not act; they speak a lot, scream, murmur, and complain to God. It is endless words without action. Our attitudes demonstrate our belief, and whoever doesn’t believe cannot be blessed not even receive the promises of God. How about you, have you been materializing your faith? Or are you waiting with crossed arms? I would love to read your comments.
